Bodies of work
Kohei Kutomi is a photographer based in Tokyo, working across the cities, shrines and back roads of Japan.
His frames are made in the turning light of dawn and dusk — the blue hour over the skyline, lanterns warming along Nakamise, an empty coast road at first light. He shoots the country slowly, often returning to a place until the weather and the hour finally agree.
His work moves between neon nightscapes and long road journeys, looking for the quiet moment in the middle of a restless city.
